You can ask us to arrange to have your unit collected from your address. We will add the charge on your bill.

Can I bring my dynastart to you in person?

Yes. We have a trade counter in our factory. Your dynastart will enter our repair control system and we will contact you the next working day with a quote for the repair.

How long will it take to get my dynamo repaired or reconditioned?

Dynastarts usually take 7-14 days to turn round.

My dynastart is charging intermittently, could there be a problem with the winding?

It is more likely to be the third brush which has worn down such that the brush spring is not placing enough pressure on the brush to keep it in contact with the commutator surface.

Can you wind the armatures for dynastarts?

Yes we can. The windings on the armatures tend to be reliable on the dynastarts. This is because the armature is designed like a starter motor armature, wave wound, with few turns of thick wire. This winding process means that it can take a heavy current when operating as a starter.

When it operates as a dynamo however, the low number of turns means it cannot generate as much potential as a traditional dynamo armature with many more turns on the armature winding. As a result the maximum output from it is about 8-10 amps, which is very low compared with the current the armature takes when operating as a starter. So when it's working as a dynamo the armature winding is massively under loaded.

Can I pay by Cheque?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal and cash. We can accept a cheque but we cannot release the goods until the cheque has cleared.
